As summer wanes and the leaves turn to their autumnal palette, we’re thinking more than ever about scent. This time of year we embrace more than just sweaters and chunky knit socks; we delight in the lingering notes of pumpkin as we pass the coffee shop, and we’re baking with extra dashes of cinnamon and vanilla. Fragrance is extremely important to us here at Virtue® because it plays a critical role in the efficacy and effectiveness of our products. Before we go in search of another spiced latte, we’d like to share a bit about what makes our scents so special––and your hair so healthy.

All of our volumizing and thickening products are designed to give fine, flat hair a root-boosting lift. They’re formulated for weightlessness—and they need to smell like it, too.

“We focused on light, clean, and bright ingredients when we developed this fragrance,” says Virtue® leading fragrance expert Lisa Wilson. “It was all about hair feeling fuller and shinier without being weighed down. Believe it or not, fragrance can help communicate these things if it is thoughtfully created with the right ingredients.” That’s how she landed on a revitalizing citrus and floral blend of leafy greens, flowers, and fruit, including white pear notes, stimulating spearmint leaf, and bright lemon essential oils.

There are several components that make these full-bodied formulas so special: Spearmint leaf is a rich antioxidant known for its healing benefits. Lemon can help strengthen the hair to make it more resistant to breakage, as well as help create thicker and shinier hair.

To reinforce strands for improved strength, there’s baobab seed, and finally, parsley can help control hair loss while also creating silky-smooth strands. Joined by black pepper oil, thyme, grapefruit flower, and tangerine, this scent is as uplifting in aroma as it is on your roots.
