2018 SAG Awards: Effortless Threaded Ponytail
Inspired by the ’60's Adir Abergel gave Saoirse Ronan another award worthy red carpet ‘do for the 2018 SAG Awards. The vintage inspiration is apparent in the lifted crown, but the low slung pony, delicately adorned strands in the back, and textured face framing layers were that of a modern Hollywood perfection.

For a style needing volume always begin with Virtue Full Shampoo and Conditioner. This formula won’t over moisturize strands or weigh them down, but rather it gives them just enough to hold the style all day with picture perfect shine.
On damp hair, apply Virtue Uplifted Volumizing Whip to the root to elevate, thicken, and hydrate hair. Then apply a mixture of Virtue Split End Serum and Virtue 6-in-1 Styler just to the ends to protect from heat, add texture and shine.
For this look Adir suggests going with a dramatic middle part. Section before blowdrying and rough dry the crown to create volume and texture for that lifted bump. Smooth the front sections with a round brush to keep the look polished.
Once the hair is dry use a 1 1/4” curling iron to “bend” the front sections for effortless texture — to achieve this you only want to wrap the hair 1 time around the iron and gently glide down the mid-shaft of hair avoiding the ends, this will create a soft bend rather than a curl.
Backcomb the crown to get that 1960’s bumped silhouette and twist the hair as you pull it back to the nape of the neck. Secure with a hair elastic and finish with Virtue Finale Shaping Spray.
