Saoirse’s 2020 Golden Globes style was inspired by “70’s glamour icons, specifically Julie Christie’s iconic hair from one of my favorite movies, Shampoo,” Abergel notes. “I wanted to create soft, touchable volume starting at the crown and polished rolled ends. Together, they embody such an iconic retro glam feel.”

Abergel started by applying a combination of Virtue Volumizing Primer and Virtue Volumizing Mousse throughout the roots and lightly though the mid-shaft for maximum volume. Using the cool air setting, he rough dried until about 80% dry. Then, he round brushed the hair and set it in rollers throughout. Once her hair cooled down, Abergel removed the rollers to reveal a voluminous blowout. After brushing out the curls, he used a 1.5 inch marcel iron to create a subtle, face-framing bend. For finishing touches, Abergel used a flat iron to bend the ends of the hair under and smoothed a few drops of Virtue Healing Oil over her strands for glamourous shine.
