Actress Lucy Boynton hit the Golden Globes Awards red carpet with a captivating look created by celebrity hairstylist, Jenny Cho, using Virtue® and ghd products.
“For Lucy, my inspiration was galactic art deco meets 60’s Bardot angel. I wanted to create a playful vibe to the hair accentuated with a center part and that had that 60’s fluffy texture and bend. The width of the style helped give the whole look an elongation and the body behind the ears was important to balance the dramatic shoulders of the gown,” says Cho.
To get the look, Cho applied Virtue Volumizing Primer all over Lucy’s damp hair, followed by a golf ball size of Virtue Volumizing Mousse, concentrated on the crown and the roots for extra volume and body at the base.
Before drying, Cho applied the NEW Virtue Healing Oil, protein powered hair oil – the first of its kind multi-tasking treatment oil and reparative protein in one – from mid shaft to ends of the hair. Virtue’s proprietary Alpha Keratin 60ku® powers this unique hair oil to repair while adding shine, taming frizz, and eliminating flyaways. Simply shake the oil to activate a fresh dose with every pump.
Next, Cho made a clean center part, and proceed to rough dry the hair with the NEW ghd Helios Hair Dryer on the high heat /high air setting in a circular motion lifting at the roots. Once the hair is mostly dried, Cho sub-sectioned the hair starting at the nape at about a 1-inch width section. Lucy’s hair received a smooth, game changing finish with the ghd Ceramic Vented Radial Brush in size #4 and the ghd Helios dryer. These multi-purpose tools smooth, lift the roots, and create body all over.
Starting back at the nape in 1-inch sections, Cho misted the hair with Virtue Shaping Spray and used the ghd CURVE® Creative Curl Wand to bend and flip random sections to create the dreamy lived-in texture. This wand is the perfect iron to use on a short hair for the right amount of bend and texture.
Once the desired texture was created and the hair cooled, Cho section off the crown and back-combed sections at the root for 60’s vibes. A spray of Virtue Texturizing Spray and a Lelet NY accessory finished the look.
