"Growing up neither of my parents really knew what to do with my hair. My mom is Filipina with thick straight hair and my dad is African American with curly textured hair. I’m somewhere in between. My mom would brush and blow-dry my hair like she would her own and my dad would do my hair in braids then burn the ends to seal them. Both methods produced some crazy results.
