4 Key Dry Shampoo Tips from Celebrity Stylist Adir Abergel

Adir Abergel styles hair with Dry Shampoo

TIP 1: USE DRY SHAMPOO OVERNIGHT

Use dry shampoo at night to absorb excess oil and sweat so you’re fresh for the morning. Dry shampoo is really incredible because it will preserve your look and reduce the amount of heat styling you need to do. That’s because it preserves a lot of like the essential oils that your hair needs to keep it health, saving you lots of time while giving you more volume.

TIP 2: USE TO ABSORB EXCESS PRODUCT

If you use too much styling product and need to remove some, spray the dry shampoo everywhere on your hair, let it sink in to absorb the oil, then massage your scalp and brush through.

TIP 3: USE AS A STYLING PRODUCT FOR VOLUME & LONGEVITY

A great trick for me is using dry shampoo after I style my hair to give it a little bit more volume. It breaks down the texture, perfectly soaks up the oils, and gives the blowout more longevity. It can even help to extend your blowout a day or two or (even three!).

TIP 4: FOCUS ON THE ROOTS FOR IN BETWEEN WASH DAYS

If your hair tends to feel like it’s very dry or has a little bit of a split personality with dry ends and oily roots, then use dry shampoo on your roots where you have most of your oil production. By doing this (and because Virtue has a super lightweight formula), you don’t have to blow dry your hair or wash it as often, helping with the “combination” hair type of oily scalp + dry ends.
