Luly James is the founder and owner of Hue Studio in Shavano, Texas. At 15, she started working at a local salon in her hometown of El Paso, Texas. In 2008, Luly graduated from the Aveda Institute in San Antonio, Texas. She loved the experience and excelled in color, cuts, and fashion shows. In 2011, after years under great mentors, Luly decided to go off on her own.
