How To Prevent Hair Damage & Make Hair Look Healthier
Our Creative Director & Celebrity Hairstylist Adir Abergel shares his tips on how to keep your healthy - and which Virtue products you need to maximize your hair’s health.
For hair that’s less-than-healthy, what are your favorite ways to make it look healthy?
1. Use a wide tooth comb to detangle.Start at the ends and work up the hair so you don’t cause breakage.
2. Use lower heat when drying your hair. Also try to let your hair air dry as much as possible before using heat.
3. Try alternating days of air drying and blow-drying.
4. Trim split ends regularly.
What are your favorite products to use to make hair healthier and stronger?
Use the Restorative Treatment Mask at least once a week, sometimes using it as a leave-in by pulling hair into a low chignon to the Mask penetrate as long as possible. This provides an instant beauty boost for dry, thin or limp hair. Hair regains immediate shine, softness and manageability, which will help lock in a style.
For those with natural curls or waves, use a small amount of Leave-in Conditioner to keep your hair extra hydrated.
What’s the best way to add natural-looking shine, bounce, and smooth the ends of the hair?
I am a huge fan of the Split End Serum. You can use it to smooth out the cuticle and create shine, but only use a dime-size from mid shaft to end staying away from the roots. It’s weightless so it keeps the moisture out and allows hair to stay shiny and gorgeous.
